The cultural tradition of Sakha people, unique spiritual wealth and symbol of Yakut culture - National Holiday “Ysyakh”

The word “Ysyakh” can be literally translated as “abundance” associated with the cult of solar deities, with the religious cult of fertility. Traditionally Ysyakh was celebrated at the summer solstice, June 21. In essence, this holiday is the Yakut New Year. 

Ysyakh - the main national holiday of Yakutia, where merged together all the cultural images of the Sakha people: rituals and ceremonies, sporting events and horse races, crafts and traditional Yakut cuisine, large-scale concert and entertainment programs.
