The delegation of the International Committee for Tourism Attractiveness and Sustainable Tourism Development visited the Turkistan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a purpose of inspection.

Experts of the international committee got acquainted with the objects of candidates for inclusion in the World List of Particular Tourist Attractions.

Experts were presented the national costumes of the people of Kazakhstan, folk musical instruments, also tried the dishes of the national cuisine of Kazakhstan, got acquainted with the national games and customs.

The unique history of Kazakhstan, features of work and leisure, national traditions and transfer of valuable experience from generation to generation - are an incomplete list of what was presented to the international experts.

Experts unanimously gave the highest marks on the Turkistan region of the republic of Kazakhstan.

The delegation of the International Committee took part in the work of the International Investment and Tourism Forum in Turkistan.

The forum was attended by approximately 500 people from 19 international and national companies from the Republic of Kazakhstan. As a result, 19 documents were signed $ 1.7 billion in total.

The key event of the business program of the international forum was the speech of the Vladimir Piskurev (Chairman of the International Committee for Tourism Attractiveness and Sustainable Tourism Development). The Chairman presented to Zhanseit Tuymenbaev (Akim of Turkistan region) three certificates confirming the inclusion of objects of the Turkestan region in the World List of Particular Tourist Attractions. The Chairman of the International Committee stressed the historical and socio-economic significance of creating a new Turkistan region and transferring the regional center to the city of Turkistan. Vladimir Piskurev noted in his speech the special place of Turkestan in the life of all Turkic peoples and expressed confidence that in a short time the city will be significantly transformed as a result of the measures taken and will reach new heights in its prosperity.

The three historical sites as Khoja Ahmed YAsawi Mausoleum, the Arystanbab Mausoleum and the Otrar site of ancient settlement located in the Turkistan region have received the status of the international significance of the International Committee for Tourism Attractiveness and Sustainable Tourism Development. These sites were supported by all countries in the Committee. It should be noted that it happens first time that several historical sites from the same region were included in the World List of Particular Tourist Attractions” – said Anicet Gabriel Kotchofa (Secretary General of the International Committee for Tourism Attractiveness and Sustainable Tourism Development. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev, visited the Mausoleum, of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, which was included in the World List of Particular Tourist Attractions.

The Mausoleum of Khawaja Ahmed Yasawi -  was built on the burial site of the Sufi poet Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, who had great authority among Muslims in the region and had a significant influence on Islam in Central Asia.

Arystan Bab Mausoleum – The mausoleum is located 150 kilometers away from the city of Shymkent, not far from the ancient city of Otrar and the village of Shaulder in the Otrar district of the Turkestan region. Architectural monument. One of the main places of worship of Muslims in the region.

Otrar  - before the Mongol invasion this city was one of the largest cities in Central Asia, now the ancient settlement in the Otrar district of the Turkistan region. Located in the lower reaches of the Arys river at its confluence with the Syrdarya, 10 km west of the railway station Timur, near the modern village of Talapty, 57 km south of the city of Turkistan, 120 km north-west of the city of Shymkent.
